SOLD OCTOBER 2024 – Valuable C. 37 Acre Holding With Derelict Stone Farmhouse For Sale by Online Auction On Wednesday, 9th October 2024 At 12 Noon (In One Or More Lots).

Today’s auction saw an attractive holding, available in several lots come to the market. Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property in the region of €10,000 per acre in advance of the auction. David added that he had “eight bidders registered” in advance of the auction with a good deal of international interest to compliment a majority of local prospective purchasers.

The property was offered in the following Lots:
Lot 1: Extending to C. 10.2 acres
Lot 2: Extending to C. 19.3 acres with derelict farmhouse and prior planning permission
Lot 3: Extending to C. 7.4 acres
Lot 4: The Entire

On the day of the auction Lot 1 opened at €50,000 and swiftly reached €100,000 after early bidding. Lot 2 commenced at €120,000 and moved as far as €160,000. Lot 3 started at €40,000 before reaching €70,000. Bids were sought in excess of €330,000 on Lot 4 (The Entire), however with no bids on this option forthcoming it was withdrawn.

The auctioneer then proceeded to seek further offers on each of the individual lots. Lot 3 was placed on the market after taking client instructions and will no further offers it was sold at €70,000. Lot 1 was described as “very close to its reserve at €100,000” and this served to encourage interested parties as the pace of bidding improved instantly. Bidding moved passed €120,000 in no time and four more bids was enough to secure the 10.2 acres at €129,000.

Lot 2 received further offers of €170,000 and €180,000 in the second round of bidding but remained short of its reserve at this price. Lot 2 was withdrawn and negotiations commenced with the highest bidders immediately after the auction. We are delighted to confirm that an offer in excess of that amount amount was agreed very swiftly afterwards.

Speaking after the auction, David Quinn commented that he was “extremely pleased with the result which exceeded all expectations”.
