Ballyeden, Camolin, Co. Wexford – Auction Report

The property at Ballyeden

SOLD FEBRUARY 2025 – Well Located C. 5 Acre Holding For Sale By Online Auction On 18th February 2025 At 12 Noon

Today’s auction marked the start of a busy auction schedule and served as our opening auction of the year. The lands are currently in grass and adjoin the M11 as well as a solar farm. The property may have potential for a residential dwelling subject to the relevant planning permissions. Auctioneer David Quinn noted “encouraging interest” in the holding from its launch, particularly from “local farmers and businesspeople”. He had guided the holding at €15,000 per acre and added that there were “five bidders registered” in advance of the auction.

On the day of the auction, bidding commenced at €50,000 and promptly moved to €100,000 with activity from three bidders. Upon reaching €105,000 Mr Quinn called for a pause to take client instructions. The auction quickly resumed and the auctioneer returned by informing all that the property “has reached its reserve and is here to be sold”. Brisk bidding ensued before this attractive holding was sold at €135,000 (€27,000 per acre).

Auctioneer David Quinn

Speaking immediately after the auction, David Quinn commented that “it was great to start the year with such a successful result”. He added that “the price achieved bodes well for upcoming sales”.
