SOLD JUNE 2024 – Valuable C. 12 Acre Roadside Holding (In One Or More Lots) For Sale By Online Auction On Friday 21st June At 11 AM

Friday’s first auction saw some excellent quality land in Courtclogh, The Ballagh come to the market. It is currently in a mixture of tillage and grass with no waste.

The land was offered in the following Lots:
Lot 1 – C. 5 Acres
Lot 2 – C. 7 Acres
Lot 3 – The Entire – C. 12 Acres

Auctioneer David Quinn guided the property between €10,000 and €12,000 per acre and commented that there was “good interest in all three lots”.

On the day of the auction, Lot 1 peaked at €65,000 and Lot 2 peaked at €85,000, a total of €150,000. The entire reached €190,000 after early rounds of bidding so with no further bids on the sperate lots, they were withdrawn and the entire was placed on the market. After four further bids, the hammer fell to a local farmer at €198,000. The price paid equated to €16,500, which is ahead of typical land values in the area.

Speaking afterwards, Mr Quinn described the auction as a “great result with strong interest in the entire in particular”. David added that there were “four bidders for the entire with two for each lot”.
