Selling agent Jack Quinn noted “promising interest levels” since launching the property which was helped by extensive media coverage from both local and national outlets. Mr Quinn had guided the property in the region of €200,000 and said that “five parties had registered to bid”. He added that there was “a good mix of interest” with some being “locally based and others from the greater Dublin area”.

On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €170,000 and continued towards €200,000 with activity from three bidders. With the property still short of its reserve and no bids forthcoming, Daisy Cottage was withdrawn and negotiations immediately commenced with the highest bidder.
