Today’s auction saw a valuable parcel of land, located in an excellent coastal location come to the market. The lands are laid out in six divisions and are currently in grass . The majority of the land is of good quality with a small amount requiring some improvement works. The property has the benefit of a cattle pen crush and a derelict building.
Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property in the region of €5,000 per acre and noted “encouraging levels of interest” prior to the auction. There were seven registered bidders for the property at Lacken.
On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €90,000 and with activity from two bidders, reached €120,000. Two more bidders joined the bidding thereafter, taking the offer to €145,000. After taking client instructions, Mr Quinn declared the property as “on the market, having reached its reserve. Ultimately, the hammer fell at €152,000 (approx. €6,200 per acre to a local farmer) .
Speaking directly after the auction, David Quinn commented that he was “thrilled to continue [his] successful run of auctions”. He added that the client “was over the moon with the result”.
