Today’s auction saw a super c. 21.6 acre parcel of grassland come to the market. The lands are laid out in four fields, all of which are of good quality and benefits from a natural water course along its southern boundary. The property had “attracted strong interest” since its launch according to auctioneer, David Quinn. Mr Quinn elaborated that there were “eight registered bidders” in advance of the auction. The lands were guided at €12,000 per acre.
On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €200,000 and moved rapidly towards €300,000 with five active bidders. Upon reaching €320,000 the property was declared to be ‘on the market’, having reached its reserve. Two bidders battled it out thereafter, with the hammer ultimately falling at €385,000 (approx. €18,000 per acre).
The auctioneer described the result as “an excellent outcome which highlights the level of demand for similar holdings”. Mr Quinn added that his client was “very pleased with the price achieved”.
